Performance and Tuning

Once again the German Automobile manufacturer has hit the roads with a better, tougher and a race ready car, the Porsche 911 GT2. Although the design of the model expresses its specialty the performance of this Porsche has much more to be admired. It’s a race ready car that makes you admire right from the instant when it stands still. It takes up a speed of 100 km per hour within 3.7 seconds only and can reach a top speed of 329 km per hour with fuel consumptions as low as 12.5 liters per 100 km. Therefore it is offering a fuel economy which was thought to be almost impossible for a performance in this class even a few years ago.

The 911 GT2 has a 6 cylinder boxer engine that belongs to the 911 Turbo. It has a maximum output of 530 bhp at 6500 rpm. Being an extremely light weight car it has a power to weight ratio of 2.72 kg/6.00 lb per horsepower. It has been a revolution in the history of turbo charged engines when Porsche’s engineers dared to integrate the turbocharged engine with an expansion type intake manifold. This has increased an all round efficiency leading the Porsche 911 GT2 to new dimensions.

Introduced with the PCCB braking system, the car has got a lot of consistency to beat the maximum deceleration. A plus point on top of this better braking system is that these brakes are about 20 kgs or 44 lbs lighter than the traditional cast iron disc brakes. The electronic suspension management system (PASM) is another bright feature in handling the cars performance.

Tuning this powerful car is nothing more than upgrading a power to super power. The already mighty and powerful car with 520 hp can be upgraded to a sheer power of 800 hp. Professional Tuner Tym Switzer and his mates have designed an awful tuning package for this Porsche. It delivers a power of 800 hp from 93 octane. The tuning kit introduces itself with 2 Garret GT30R ball bearing based turbochargers. These turbochargers compress massive amounts of air adding to the glory of this performance pack. Such power and speed will ensure that you stick to the back of your seat while your Porsche moves on. But, for a smoother ride with the same power, it is made to run on the normal 93 octane gas and comes with a kit with many custom SPI headers, an intercooler setup, and aftermarket exhaust system and along with that the 2 GT30R turbochargers. With all these upgrades and enhancements the ECU is reinstalled with the Switzer software and the engine finally gets up with the companies version of 997 twin turbo exhaust. This Tuning kit is priced at $39,000 and is quite worth the price.

This car is an all rounder in all aspects. Along with better performance and tuning capabilities, it also takes care of safety features with upgrades in its safety features. Being a real fuel efficient car, this new Porsche is going to bring in a stiff competition with its competitors.
